Why I Founded Saint Savoy

Saint Savoy began with my own search for a pair of shoes I simply couldn’t find: elegant vintage shoes that looked beautiful, felt exceptionally comfortable, and could be worn not only for dancing, but just as naturally in everyday life.

As a dancer and admirer of the style and elegance of bygone eras, I searched all over the world for beautiful shoes for women and men. Time and again, I was left disappointed. So I decided to create the shoes I had always been looking for – exactly the way I wanted to wear them myself.

Today, I design vintage shoes for women and men, as well as unisex styles, combining timeless elegance with modern comfort. My goal has always been to create shoes that people love wearing, whether they’re on the dance floor or simply enjoying everyday life.

My Philosophy

Every Saint Savoy shoe begins with one simple ambition: it should feel every bit as wonderful as it looks.

Comfort is never an afterthought. I place great importance on beautifully balanced fits, anatomically considered lasts and carefully selected premium materials. Our lasts are continuously refined and improved, and I regularly expand our range to accommodate more foot shapes and sizes. To me, inclusive sizing isn’t a trend—it’s simply the right thing to do.

Every pair of Saint Savoy shoes is designed to be street-ready. Whatever sole you choose, I want you to enjoy wearing your shoes for dancing, travelling, going to work, attending celebrations, exploring a new city, or simply going about your day in comfort and style.

Many of the features that make a Saint Savoy shoe so comfortable remain invisible: softly cushioned footbeds, carefully engineered shock absorption, stable construction and durable materials all work quietly behind the scenes to create a truly luxurious wearing experience that lasts for years.

My designs are inspired by the effortless elegance of the 1920s, the refined style of the 1930s, the timeless sophistication of the 1940s, and the joyful energy of the Rock ‘n’ Roll era of the 1950s.

At the same time, I embrace modern materials wherever they genuinely improve comfort, durability and performance—without ever compromising the authentic vintage look and character that define Saint Savoy.

Before any design becomes part of the Saint Savoy collection, it is thoroughly tested, refined and perfected.

Our shoes are loved by dancers of Lindy Hop, Balboa, Collegiate Shag, Solo Jazz, Charleston, Blues, Jive, Boogie Woogie, Rock ‘n’ Roll, and many other dance styles.

Just as importantly, they are designed to be enjoyed far beyond the dance floor. Many of our customers wear their Saint Savoys as elegant everyday shoes, while others choose them as their wedding shoes. It is always a privilege to see brides and grooms celebrating one of the happiest days of their lives in Saint Savoys—and even more rewarding to know that they continue wearing the very same shoes for years afterwards, creating many more wonderful memories.

Every pair of Saint Savoy shoes is handcrafted by experienced shoemakers in Spain and Portugal.

Keeping our production within Europe means shorter transport routes and ensuring that our manufacturing complies with Europe’s high standards for environmental protection, animal welfare, workers’ rights and responsible wastewater management.

I also believe that sustainability begins with quality. From the materials we select to the packaging we use, every decision is made with longevity in mind. Because the most sustainable pair of shoes is one that is loved, worn and cherished for many years to come.
